How it works
Get a pair
Send a pair of birdhouses — one to you, one to your mom, your partner, your best friend. Each pair is linked together out of the box.
Plug it in
Just plug it into power. Every 10 minutes, your birdhouses will send an image to each other. Or strike a pose and take a pic whenever you want.
Enjoy
Share a space even if you're not in the same place. See your people throughout the day without the pressure of a call or the effort of a text.
Privacy-preserving
All images are fully end-to-end encrypted and are only seen by you and the other person. Images are not stored or saved anywhere.
No audio is collected. No live video is collected. And you can put a little hat on the camera if you need extra privacy.
Sleeps when you sleep
The camera turns off when no motion is detected, saving power and giving you peace of mind. It wakes up when you do.
Customizable
Choose how often pictures are sent — anywhere from every 1 to 10 minutes. Let selfies stay until overwritten. Or send images at the same time.
We all have someone we'd like to see more of.
Don't let life or work get in the way.
“I got this for my mom and she calls me less now — but somehow we feel closer. She waves at it every morning.”
“My partner and I are long distance. This made everything easier. I can see him making dinner while I study.”
“It's like a window into my sister's apartment. Sometimes I see her cat and it makes my whole day.”
“Way less pressure than FaceTime. I don't have to be 'on' — I just exist near someone I love.”
“My daughter got me one of these. I keep it in the kitchen. It's nice to see her working at her desk during the day.”

Questions?
How does Birdhouse actually work?
Each Birdhouse has a small camera and screen. Once plugged in and paired, they automatically exchange photos every few minutes (default is every 10). You can also press the button on the side to send a photo right away — like a tiny, low-pressure photo booth.
Do I need two Birdhouses?
Yes — Birdhouses are sold in pairs. One for you, one for whoever you want to stay connected with. They come pre-paired so there's no configuration needed between them.
Is my data private?
Absolutely. All images are encrypted between your pair. We never see, store, or save any of your photos. There's no microphone on the device and no live video — just still images sent at a frequency you control.
What's the difference between Classic and Mobile?
The Birdhouse Classic connects to your home Wi-Fi. The Birdhouse Mobile has a built-in cellular plan (free with normal usage), so it doesn't need Wi-Fi at all — just power. Great for folks without reliable internet.
How big is the Birdhouse?
It fits in the palm of your hand. Small enough for a desk, kitchen counter, or nightstand. It's designed to blend into your space, not dominate it.
Can I turn the camera off?
Yes. You can cover the camera with the included privacy cap any time. The device also automatically sleeps when it doesn't detect motion, so it's not watching when no one's around.
What if I want to change the photo interval?
You can set how often photos are sent — anywhere from every 1 to 10 minutes — through the Birdhouse web dashboard. You can also choose to let selfies stay on screen until overwritten, or send images at the same time as the other Birdhouse.
How do I set it up?
For the Classic: plug it in, connect your phone to the Birdhouse's Wi-Fi hotspot, then pick your home network. That's it. For the Mobile: just plug it in — it connects over cellular automatically.
